Our Story

Who Is TransRockies Run?

After 17 years of producing the iconic TransRockies Run in Colorado, we decided to expand our stage runs to more of our favorite outdoor destinations. This year we are excited to bring that experience to the scenic and diverse trails of Big Bear Lake California.

We are much more than an event, we are:

  • Committed to the experience. We strive to put on an amazing event for our participants with professionally marked courses in beautiful locations. This event is about every person who crosses the finish line, and we want to celebrate all those who are passionate, persevere and show great character.

  • Passionate about Big Bear Lake as a place to play (and live). As much as possible, we support local businesses, hire local crews, and we’re always looking for new ways to increase the sustainability of our events by reducing their impact on the environment.

  • Devoted to our crew. Our crew and volunteers mean the world to us. Without them this event wouldn’t be possible, so don’t be surprised if you see them being treated like rock stars!

On Sustainability

Beyond our commitment to the runners, crew and community that make this event special, we’re also committed to our planet. That means we pledge to:

  1. Create as little waste as possible.

  2. Return as much richness to our community as possible.

More specifically, we will:

Work toward zero waste by:

  • Recycling at our check point/aid stations.

  • Re-gifting leftover aid station food to volunteers and crew.

  • Eliminating the use of cups at our aid stations.

  • Reusing or recycling all of our event materials and infrastructure, including course marking materials.

Give back to our community by:

  • Holding fundraisers and making donations to local non-profits.

  • Sourcing as much as we can from local people and local businesses.

  • Helping to promote local causes, especially those that are participating in Big Bear Peaks and Pines festival.
